GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department has identified a 19-year-old who was shot and killed while inside his vehicle over the weekend.

Officers responded to the area of Hall Street and Phillips Avenue Southwest at about 9 p.m. Saturday after getting several reports of shots being fired. Investigators then found the victim, 19-year-old Jashon Large, of Grand Rapids, with several gunshot wounds to his head and torso, the police department said.

First responders provided medical attention to Large, but he later died at Mercy Health St. Mary's.

Police said the gunman's vehicle pulled alongside Large's vehicle while on the road. The gunman then fired several bullets into Large's vehicle. No one else was with the victim.
